Dr. Dany Pokem provides strategic leadership and high-level advisory support across the interconnected fields of forestry, biodiversity conservation, climate change, natural resource management, land and resource governance, ecosystem restoration, resilience, food security, peace and security, sustainable finance, the bioeconomy, sustainable development and Professional Congress/Conference Organiser (PCO).
Over the course of his career, he has led and supported numerous regional and international initiatives, working with governments, intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), international and national NGOs, development partners, the private sector, civil society organizations (CSOs), Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs), research institutions, and other stakeholders.
His expertise lies in designing and implementing multi-stakeholder strategies, facilitating high-level policy dialogue, mobilizing partnerships and innovative financing, strengthening institutional capacities, and advancing integrated solutions that reconcile environmental sustainability, economic development, social inclusion, and regional stability.
Dr. Pokem has extensive experience in developing strategic frameworks, coordinating complex multi-country programmes, supporting international negotiations, and promoting evidence-based policies that contribute to climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive green growth across Africa and beyond.
